Ethiopian Airlines latest DeHavilland Canada Dash-8 ET-AXP pops into Manchester for a quick "splash & dash" as it makes its way from the factory in Canada to its new home in Ethiopia.
The little turboprop left Toronto for Goose Bay, then over to Keflavik, Manchester, Rome, Cairo and finally Addis Ababa taking a couple of days to make the trip (due to crew rest requirements).
The video of it landing at Manchester is available here;

After numerous script re-writes the latest episode of our "Grounded" series is online, this one looks at Excel Airways. Due the length of the story which has so many twists and turns I have had to split it into three episodes, the first one looks at the Rise of Excel Airways following their re-branding from Sabre Airways and tells the story up to their rebranding as XL following their 2006 management buyout.
That episode is available here: https://youtu.be/gzmO9gdmcu0
The next episode, which is due shortly, will look at their spectacular implosion in late 2008 by which point they were the UK's third largest travel company. The final episode looks at the unbelievable events following XL's demise which involved the collapse of several more airlines all of which were tangled up with the former management of XL...

Firstly, Happy New Year! I hope you all have a great 2019.
Website updates may have slowed down over the last two months but there certainly has been new content uploaded to our YouTube Channel, including some more Wing Views, Las Vegas Airport spotting footage and even our first trip reports from Virgin Atlantic and Air Tanker / Thomas Cook.
I had two big trips to the USA within the space of 5 weeks and aside from the trips themselves there has been a lot of videos to edit and publish, I still have one more Vegas spotting video as well as 9 more takeoff & landing videos and 5 trip reports. There is also "Grounded" which is on it's way, believe me :) The next episode which looks at Excel Airways went through 8 redrafts before being split into 3 episodes, one looking at the rise of Excel Airways, one looking at the demise of the rebranded XL Airways and a final episode looking at the unbelievable tail of events which followed in the wake of the companies demise.
There are still a few updates to the website to come too so it certainly looks like a busy year ahead!
Cheerio :)

After several months of planning I'm delighted to say that the Expo Aviation website is now up and running, we have almost everything online now with just the "wingviews" page needing uploading and a couple of thumbnails needed and some general polishing. There are lots of new projects in the works and these will be touched on in due course so come on in, take a look around and let me know what you think :)
